Robowaver Keeps On Waving
Everett, WA (PRWEB) July 5, 2008 -- The perfect employee.
Rain, snow, sleet, and hail, these robotic marketers will
wave to passing pedestrians and traffic driving in new
customers.
"When sixty
percent of your business is derived from the efforts of a
sign holding 'costumed waver,' it is fairly evident your
business needs a full time "'costumed waver.' Finding a good
and reliable one, let alone a team of these outgoing
individuals is not easy. So we built one," says co-owner
Tony McAleer of Robowaver Inc.
Fabricated
from aluminum, pvc and galvanized steel, the Robowaver
stands 7' tall, comes in male and female forms and may be
dressed in any costume eg. Lady Liberty.
"Robowaver was
created to fill a void left by the inability to find sign
holders to ear a costume and wave at passing traffic to draw
in business" says Lars Pak co-owner of Robowaver. "Standing
by the side of the road dressed in a strange costume and
asked to wave at people in cars is not only an unnerving
task but can be quite humiliating. That's where Robowaver is
different and can help."
According to
McAleer, more than fifty percent of the clients to his
Liberty Tax franchise office in Everett WA walk in on
account of the costumed wavers. "By the third year I was
using a mechanical unit to wear my mascot costume to wave as
I could not find anyone to wave for me. I was that desperate
I paid a labor recruitment company $14.50 an hour and got a
couple of guys who rarely smiled... or waved," he says.
"Using these robotic wavers not only solved that problem but
saves me about $8,000 per waver over three months."
There are more
than 2,500 Liberty Tax offices in the United States where
more than 10,000 people are seasonally employed to wave at
passing cars. Robowaver hopes to have a hand in there
somewhere... probably a waving hand!
Robowaver can
be modified to accommodate mascots and virtually any uniform
or costume.
Designed to
operate on both battery and 110, Robowaver will operate up
to 24 hours on a single charge or run constantly if plugged
into a wall. Both options are available.
"The best
thing about Robowaver is that it can hold a sign, does not
complain about the weather, arrives at work on time, never
stops smiling, attracts new business and does not need
bathroom breaks!" McAleer says.
Pak and
McAleer created Robowaver after realizing the demands by
their own and other businesses for this product, especially
in the area of cutting payroll costs.
Robowaver is a
tough durable marketing and advertising tool. Clearly, if
your business needs a kick start, you will not go too far
wrong by investing in one.
The return on
investment is generally under five weeks with constant use.
